Project: Space Descent with Tim Peake
BACK TO CASE STUDIES

The Brief:

To attract interest in the Science Museum’s tour of renowned astranaught Tim Peake’s spacecraft, we were asked to stitch together a virtual tour of a spacecraft to create an immersive 360 degree VR application.

What We Did:

We stitched together two films of varying length in a 360 degree form, and built the content into an enterprise application to be used on the Oculus Gear VR, without having to go through the Oculus store.

Simple fail-safes were built into the application to make the experience far more reliable for the tour; like an auto-pause once the user removes the headset, a re-start after a period of inactivity, a device lock, and a re-calibration of centre point between uses.

The experience was rolled-out nationally and is still live up and down the country.
