Client: Betfair
Project: Betfair Commentary Challenge
BACK TO CASE STUDIES

The Brief:

As a brand synonymous with horse-racing, Betfair were looking for an interactive experience to entertain and capture data from race-goers at a selection of major race venues around the UK.

What We Did:

We designed and built a mobile-responsive application to be used on our 32" PCAP touchscreens. The concept was the Betfair #CommentaryChallenge: three touchscreens were fastened into a branded mobile unit for the tour and the experience itself saw users approach the screens in pairs, watch the last few fences being jumped in some pre-selected archive footage of a famous horse race, and make an attempt at doing the commentary themselves!

The attempts were recorded on a webcam and the sound was picked up through the headset microphones, which were programmed to pick up, play, and record sound from two users through the same app. Once users finish their entries, they reach a playback page to instantly review their commentary... if happy the users leave some basic data to receive a mailer containing a link through to their video, to be shared on social media.

Finer Vision analytics tracked the activity on the stand, the number of users, the open-rates, play-rates and share-rates.
